Inspiration: Atelier Brancusi
Constantin Brancusi was born in 1876 and is a Romanian-born sculptor, painter and photographer. He lived and worked in Paris from 1904 until his death in 1957. He bequeathed his entire collection of art to the French state. Brancusi is called the patriarch of modern sculpture.
His collection is beautiful, unique and spectacular. This is a must visit when traveling to Paris!
All of his equipment and tools.
Although much of his artwork was created over 90 years ago, he was a pioneer of modernism. I see several new designers inspired by Brancusi and I understand why. He was ahead of his time and his works are just as relevant to this day.
This is an exact reconstruction of his studio before he died.
Restrained and elegant use of the pure form. All his mediums were stone, wood and bronze.
All photos are taken by me.
Is was a dream to view the whole collection at Atelier Brancusi who is located opposite of Centre Pompidou, consisting of 137 sculptures, 87 bases, 41 drawings, two paintings and over 1600 glass photographic plates and original prints. Definitely worth a visit.
