Curated Copenhagen

Curated Copenhagen is an art shop located in the heart of Nørrebro in Copenhagen, curated by sisters Mille and Rikke Israelsen. From vintage Le Corbusier prints to contemporary textile art by Francesco Clemente.

I got to interview these lovely ladies about future plans, inspiration and how they choose their art. Also see below how I styled with some of their prints in my home!

What kind of Education do you have?

Mille: Masters in Textile Design from the Royal Danish School of Design

Rikke: Fashion designer with 10 years of experience from the Fashion Industry

Who got the idea to start Curated Copenhagen?

Since we where small kids, we always dreamed of creating something together. We have always had a big passion for art and design.

Do you have any future ideas in expanding the store internationally?

We continuously work with many museums and galleries around the world, which is amazing. Our customers are based all over the world and we are really blessed to have many of them visiting our shop in Copenhagen.

When choosing art, what do you look for?

We foremost look at color and shape, more than the artist behind the piece. We use our intuition a lot and love discovering lesser know artists.

Will Curated Copenhagen make art as well, one day?

We would love to do some projects with contemporary artists in the future.

Favorite designers?

Within design, art and architecture we are very inspired by:

@joyninawalker

Constantin Brâncuși

@heroldian_journal

@malingabriella

Do you have any other hobbies and/or passions?

Our work is also our hobby and we love hanging out together going to museums, galleries, inspirational travels etc.
